Purpose of the Job 

The Field Coordinator (FC) is a key operational role within the Shatreen program, responsible for ensuring smooth, high-quality implementation of the program (in Naqada, Qus and Deshna) at the grassroots level. The FC acts as Coptic Orphans' primary presence on the ground - visiting classrooms, monitoring program delivery, and ensuring that every child receives the experience the program intends.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

Murshedat Recruitment & Support

• Coordinate the recruitment of Murshedat in the assigned area through churches, VGP/NAP networks, and community channels, and support screening, shortlisting, and interview scheduling with the Shatreen Program Manager
• Prepare and maintain onboarding documentation, signed agreements, and ID records for all selected Murshedat
• Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for Murshedat throughout the program cycle, addressing routine operational questions and escalating concerns regarding attendance, performance, or wellbeing to the Program Manager
• Coordinate the monthly stipend process, verifying bank details and confirming delivery records with the Finance team

Site Selection and Church Relations

• Assess and propose church sites suitable for hosting Shatreen classrooms, in coordination with the Church Affairs team
• Maintain respectful working relationships with priests and church leadership across implementation sites, representing the program with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
• Coordinate church onboarding, including venue confirmation, logistics, and parent awareness meetings

Training & Delivery Oversight

• Manage the Murshedat training calendar and logistics - venue, transport, meals, materials, and attendance tracking - in coordination with the L&D team and the Educate Me Foundation (EMF)
• Ensure all Murshedat complete required training before each program cycle, including TaRL training delivered by EMF and Coptic Orphans' in-house life skills modules, arranging make-up sessions where needed
• Conduct regular classroom visits across implementation sites to observe delivery, Mursheda performance, and classroom environment, and monitor fidelity to the TaRL methodology and Coptic Orphans' curriculum standards
• Track daily and weekly attendance for Murshedat and children, identifying patterns of concern and escalating them to the Program Manager
• Support the collection and verification of program data at field level as required by the M&E framework, in coordination with EMF
• Flag child welfare concerns and delivery deviations promptly, in line with safeguarding and escalation procedures

Reporting, Issue Resolution & Field Insights

• Resolve routine operational issues raised by Murshedat, churches, or families at field level; refer complex or sensitive issues to the Program Manager with a clear summary and suggested next steps, and maintain a log of issues and resolutions
• Submit regular field reports covering classroom visits, attendance, Mursheda performance, site conditions, and operational challenges, and keep all program records current on Coptic Orphans' systems
• Provide field-level data and narrative inputs for donor and leadership reports prepared by the Program Manager
• Share field observations, lessons learned, and practical recommendations to inform expansion planning, training improvements, and updates to the Shatreen program manual
• Support implementation in other areas as the program scales, as directed by the Program Manager

Required Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Education, Development Studies, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in field coordination, community development, or program implementation - preferably in an education or child-focused setting.
• Strong relationship-management skills - comfortable engaging with clergy, families, and field staff with equal ease.
• High level of organizational ability; able to manage multiple sites, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong attention to details - able to observe a classroom and identify what is and isn't working.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Proven experience working with volunteer or community-based workforce.
• Experience working with or within the Coptic community is strongly preferred.
• Prior exposure to remedial education, literacy/numeracy programs.
• Basic proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to travel extensively within the assigned area and occasionally beyond.
• Discreet, trustworthy, and professional when handling sensitive information about children and families.
• Collaborative team player with a solutions-oriented mindset.

Travel and Working Requirements 

• Travel may reach up to 80% of the time.
• Work involves frequent local travel within assigned program areas.
• Work environment includes field settings with walking, sitting, typing, using public transportation, and occasional lifting of materials.
• May require working outside official hours and on weekends as needed.
