Responsibilities

→Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC&R systems.
→Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to ensure optimal system performance.
→Read and interpret commercial blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
→Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot BAS/DDC systems, including pneumatic and digital controls.
→Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
→Support boiler, chiller, and stationary equipment operations as required.
→Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including EPA standards.
→Communicate system conditions, repair needs, and corrective actions to facility staff and non-technical personnel.
→Maintain accurate service documentation and reports.
→Perform duties in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in varying environmental conditions.
→Maintain professionalism and reliability while working in a government and high-security environment.

Requirements

Security Clearance:
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to a secure government installation at Fort Belvoir, VA

Education and Certifications:
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (mandatory)
- NATE, DC3, NIULPE, or state-specific HVAC licensing (highly preferred)
- Stationary Engineer License (highly preferred)
- Boiler Operator License (highly preferred)

Experience:
- 3–5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC&R service
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting commercial blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Strong understanding of BAS/DDC systems, including pneumatic and digital controls

Additional Requirements
- Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform duties in extreme temperatures or confined spaces
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical personnel
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional demeanor suitable for high-visibility government facilities
