Technical Writer II

The Technical Documentation team operates at the intersection of product development, design, and our customers. Thousands of users leverage our content every day to get the most out of Cribl products and solve IT and security problems that no one else can.

As a key member of this team, we want you to bring your technical experience, love of learning, and insatiable curiosity to help us shape the future of Cribl documentation and in-product guidance in a rapidly changing product development environment. You will build your skills and learn from an amazing group of established writers. You will collaborate with team members from engineering, product management, design, customer support, and our go-to-market teams to create content that supports a diverse user base and helps solve real customer problems. • Learn to use AI-assisted tools thoughtfully to support research, drafting, revision, and content maintenance while applying strong human judgment for accuracy, clarity, and audience needs.
• Help create content that is clear, structured, and reusable so it works well for both human readers and emerging AI-powered discovery experiences.
• Collaborate closely with a wide range of cross-functional constituents as well as our user community to create technical content and in-product guidance that meets the needs of our growing audience.
• Build strong community and cross-functional relationships to help expand your knowledge of our products, our users, and the real world problems they face every day.
• Have a growth mindset! Keep up to date on tech writing industry trends and use what you learn to help our team innovate at every level.
• Learn from our team as you improve your writing, technical knowledge, and ability to think through tough problems with a focus on customer outcomes. 
• Bring your positive attitude and sense of humor to help us foster a culture that is collaborative, innovative, and inclusive. 

• 2+ years experience working as a technical writer, API writer, UX writer, content developer, or similar role. 
• Excellent English-language written and verbal communication skills. 
• Interest in how AI is changing technical documentation, search, and product guidance, along with a willingness to experiment and learn.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, tone, completeness, and alignment with a style guide.
• A portfolio that showcases your skills in software documentation aimed at technical audiences.
• Experience working in a fast-paced company serving enterprise users and buyers.
• Interest in contributing directly to UX text and interaction design (you can help build the products you write about).
• Demonstrated ability to follow a house style guide, edit and self-edit according to it, and expand it where needed.
• Willingness to work and grow in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment.
• Ability to collaborate and publish using Git-based workflows and static site generators (Hugo, Docusaurus, Gatsby, and so on). 
• Skill in using Atlassian tools, Google Workspace/G Suite, and graphics/screenshot annotation tools.
