We are a growing law firm seeking a strategic and operationally strong Director of Marketing to help support and enhance our marketing function. This role is ideal for a leader who brings a strong grasp of digital marketing, team development, vendor management, and performance reporting, and who can help drive marketing effectiveness in a fast-moving environment.

This position will play an important role in strengthening marketing operations, refining team structure, improving accountability, and helping ensure that marketing efforts are aligned with broader business goals. The right candidate is both strategic and hands-on, comfortable guiding initiatives at a high level while also helping improve the systems and processes that support execution.

 

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Build and help execute a cohesive marketing plan with clear goals, timelines, budgets, and performance expectations.
  • Digital Marketing Oversight: Oversee digital marketing initiatives across paid search, social media, SEO, and related channels, ensuring consistency, effectiveness, and alignment with overall brand strategy.
  • Team Leadership: Support the development, structure, and accountability of the marketing team, helping create clarity in roles, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Vendor and Agency Management: Partner with outside vendors and agency partners to review strategy, monitor results, and maintain accountability for performance.
  • Performance Tracking: Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that support data-informed decision-making and clearer visibility into marketing impact.
  • Brand and Community Presence: Support initiatives that strengthen the firm’s visibility, reputation, and community presence through thoughtful outreach and marketing efforts.
  • Budget Management: Monitor marketing spend and help ensure resources are allocated effectively to support business goals and maximize return.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve workflows, systems, campaign tracking, and the broader marketing tech stack to support a more efficient and scalable operation.

 

  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Strong background in PPC, SEO, social media, and digital campaign strategy, including experience working with outside agencies or vendors.
  • Leadership Ability: Demonstrated experience managing, coaching, or developing marketing talent in a way that improves structure, accountability, and performance.
  • Vendor Management Skills: Confidence in working with agencies and external partners to evaluate strategy, challenge assumptions, and drive results.
  • Data-Driven Mindset: Experience developing KPIs, measuring campaign effectiveness, and using performance data to guide marketing decisions.
  • Operational Strength: Familiarity with CRM systems, project management tools, reporting frameworks, and other platforms that improve marketing coordination and execution.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to translate performance insights into clear recommendations and communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Initiative and Ownership: Comfortable operating independently, identifying opportunities, and helping drive progress in a dynamic environment.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in legal marketing or other professional services environments is preferred, but not required.
