As an Crew Leader, you will oversee the execution of landscape enhancement and hardscape projects from start to finish. You will lead a crew, coordinate materials and equipment, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise, project coordination, and team development. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional results while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Lead and supervise a crew of 4–5 team members on enhancement and hardscape projects
- →Operate heavy equipment, including mini excavators, skid steers, and loaders
- →Plan daily work activities and manage crew schedules
- →Coordinate materials, equipment, and job site logistics
- →Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
- →Complete daily logs and safety documentation, including JSAs and Toolbox Talks
- →Utilize Interloc and SiteDocs to manage work orders, document safety activities, track equipment, and maintain accurate project records
- →Maintain tools, equipment, and job site safety standards
- →Troubleshoot challenges and resolve issues in the field
- →Ensure projects align with design specifications, zoning requirements, and company standards
- →Train, mentor, and support new and returning team members
- →Communicate project progress, safety concerns, and operational updates to management
- →Support winter operations and assist with seasonal duties during the off-season
- →Occasionally troubleshoot technology issues, because every Crew Leader eventually becomes part supervisor, part mechanic, and part IT support
- 2–3 years of landscaping, enhancement, or property maintenance experience
- Minimum 1 year of crew leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience operating landscaping and construction equipment
- Knowledge of hardscape installation techniques and landscape construction practices
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physically demanding work
- Experience with Interloc, SiteDocs, or similar field management and maintenance platforms is considered an asset
- Comfortable using mobile apps and technology (if you can figure out why your phone isn't connecting to Bluetooth, you're already ahead of the game)
