The Traveling Safety Specialist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining a safe workplace in compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. This position supports the organization through reporting, communication, and advisory guidance to project staff. It has a strong influence on overall safety performance at the construction site. The primary goal is to maintain awareness, knowledge, and preparedness across projects to reinforce a culture that prioritizes effective safety practices.

This position will provide overall leadership, professional knowledge, and expertise in the administration and support of Health and Safety processes, including regulatory agency compliance, company policies, and human capital development.

This position reports to the Safety Director for administrative purposes, but closely collaborates with the safety and execution team to coordinate program efforts and outcomes. This position requires daily travel to jobsites.

This is a full-time FLSA-exempt position.  The position requires 40 work hours per week with the ability to work more if necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Safety, Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering, or military equivalency
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • 5-10 years of practical field experience or military equivalency
  • Microsoft Office Suite of products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • OSHA 30, STSC, or CHST certifications
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications
  • Procore
  • Must be highly motivated and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to travel and willing to work occasional weekends if needed
  • Ability to work in an effective, safe manner with little supervision
