The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $3,565 - $3,709 per month (Steps 1 – 3), commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The salary range for this classification is $3,565 to $5,092 per month.

✓This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

Reporting to and under the general supervision of the Department Chair, the incumbent provides routine to moderately complex clerical and administrative support to the Department and the Fresno State-Scottish Rite Speech and Language Clinic. The incumbent may also receive work direction from the Clinic Director and work with the Department Administrative Support Coordinator (ASCI) to accomplish tasks and projects.

While some of the work assignments are routine in nature, most work assignments are of moderate scope and complexity involving the regular use of judgment and discretion. Day-to-day work is performed with relative independence, with general instructions being provided on new or unusual assignments. Work often involves frontline contact with a variety of campus and community individuals.

In order to assure the Department and Clinic faculty are able to deliver effective clinical and classroom instruction, this position exists to provide a wide variety of clerical, logistical, and financial recordkeeping for the Clinic and back-up support to the Department in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. The nature of work involves access to confidential medical records. Therefore, the incumbent is responsible for the proper safeguard necessary to ensure patient confidentiality and records security. The incumbent serves as a member of the larger clerical and administrative support team effort. As such, this position also provides ancillary support to the Communicative Sciences and Deaf Studies Department in the form of a back-up person to other clerical positions.

  • Interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and prepare written correspondence
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Deaf Studies, Speech Pathology, Counseling, Rehabilitation, Education or related field
  • Minimum of one year of experience with direct student, staff, and faculty support in higher education
  • Experience or certification in a language other than English
  • Experience working with cloud technology
  • Experience working with clients served in a clinical setting
  • Experience in working with service delivery to students in post-secondary educational institutions
  • Record keeping expertise

The duties of this position will include participation in decisions that may have a material financial benefit to the incumbent. Therefore, the selected candidate will be required to file Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interest when they first occupy the position, and on an annual basis, complete ethics training within 6 months of appointment, and attend this training every other year thereafter.
