The Department of English, Comparative Literature, and Linguistics at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure‐track Assistant Professor position in Asian American Literature with an appointment to begin Fall, 2027.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in English, Comparative Literature, or a related field with an emphasis in Asian American Literature or a related field is required by August 2027. ABDs must show evidence of degree completion prior to appointment.
  • Ability to balance excellent teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • Evidence of successful, high-quality teaching.
  • Active research program with demonstrated evidence of, or clear potential for, high-quality peer-reviewed publication.
  • Potential for collegial participation in departmental, campus, and disciplinary communities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.
  • Experience in teaching children’s literature or creative writing
  • Tertiary emphasis in contemporary literature, queer literatures, feminist or women’s literatures.
