The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education.
The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $2,279.53 per month ($27,354.30 annual equivalent per year), commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 1 ($27,354.30 per year or $2,279.53 (Part-Time equivalent, 0.475) or $57,588 per year or $4,799 per month (Full-Time equivalent)). Future increases, including step advancement, are subject to contract negotiations.
Administrative Analyst/Specialist – Non-Exempt
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Research Support Assistant (Graduate) to assist with research projects, and general support to the departments of Division of Academic Affairs (DAA), including academic programs and faculty development, academic technology, educator and leadership programs, professional and continuing education, and research. This position will also provide assistance for a full range of professional research, writing and coordination support for DAA.
Responsibilities
~1 min readUnder the general direction of the Director, Academic Affairs Business Systems, the Research Support Assistant (Graduate) will:
-Assist with research assessment and analysis in support of CSU and Academic Affairs initiatives.
-Draft academic and research papers, document research and analysis, and assist with other documentation, including but not limited to briefs, executive summaries, and white papers.
-Present findings and analysis as needed.
-Support project management for projects and activities undertaken throughout the Division of Academic Affairs.
-Support other technology and systems of the Division, including maintenance of systems and requirements gathering for updates.
-Assist with administrative support of Division activities.
-Contribute student-focused insights on Academic Affairs processes and practices.
-Assist with coordinating Division meetings, events, and gatherings.
-Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

-A bachelor’s degree and relevant three to five years of experience in research and data analysis and/or higher education.
-Enrollment in and satisfactory progress toward an advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) at a CSU campus.
-Academic good standing in advanced degree program at all times.
-Demonstrated proficiency to research, analyze, and write coherent, scholarly reports and presentations.
-Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology, including Zoom, Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), and familiarity with AI-enabled tools required.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills that exhibit the ability to address different audiences (e.g., within and outside of the CSU) with awareness and insight required.
-Ability to take the initiative while working both independently and with a team.
-Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with all levels of leadership or management.
-Ability to adapt quickly and to respond to changing assignments and multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment.
-Excellent organizational, task, priority, and time management skills.
-Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
-Experience coordinating and facilitating activities or programs preferred.
-Possess excellent problem-solving skills and a supportive attitude preferred.
