The Clerk is responsible for daily travel to State facilities to collect and verify admission and bond funds for transport back to Central Office, as well as handling Fiscal department mail. Hybrid work is not available for this position.\r\n Requires daily travel throughout the State of Connecticut with the utilization of a State vehicle.\r\n This position will serve courier duties between the agency’s Central Office in Wethersfield and its facilities.\r\n\r\nABOUT US\r\nThe Connecticut Department of Correction is a diverse agency with a wide variety of employees from Correction Officers, to Educators, to Managers and Skilled Professionals. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
\r\n\r\n\r\n Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation;\r\n Skills\r\n \r\n in performing arithmetic computations;\r\n interpersonal skills;\r\n \r\n \r\n Ability to\r\n \r\n perform clerical tasks such as coding, sorting, alphabetizing and numeric ordering;\r\n follow oral and written instructions;\r\n file;\r\n operate office equipment.\r\n \r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any experience and training that could reasonably be expected to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above.\r\n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with driving in all weather conditions for approximately two (2) hours or more per day, five days per week.\r\n• Experience delivering packages and completing a range of tasks within and outside the Department (various facilities, post office or supply warehouse).\r\n• Experience with cash handling, counting and making bank deposits;\r\n• Experience with computer office systems such as Excel, Word, and Outlook;\r\n• Experience using office equipment such as copy machines, mail sorters, and stampers;\r\n• Experience with verbally communicating with a diverse group of individuals both in-person and over the phone.\r\n• Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines.\r\n
