Click�here�for more information\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nPOSITION HIGHLIGHTS\r\n\r\n\r\n This position is full-time, following a first shift schedule, Monday - Friday, and 35 hours per week with opportunities for a hybrid schedule that includes telework.\r\n This position provides a unique opportunity to join a team committed to developing new programs to control emissions from stationary sources.\r\n As an Engineer Trainee you will research air pollution control technology and analyze proposed federal rules for impacts on the state.\r\n In your role you will also gather inventory information on stationary source categories and learn the regulatory development process, how to draft memorandum, regulations and air quality plans.\r\n\r\nPLEASE NOTE: This position receives training under the direction of a supervisor or senior staff for a period of one year. PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)

In a state agency this class is accountable for receiving training in introductory professional engineering work for the development of technical and professional engineering skills and knowledge in order to qualify for advancement to the technical engineering work of the agency.

Performs a wide variety of increasingly difficult duties as technical skills are acquired during course of training period.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

\r\n\r\n\r\n Knowledge of basic engineering theories, principles and methods;�\r\n Skill in the use of drafting and calculating instruments;�\r\n Considerable ability to perform mathematical computations, making neat and accurate drawings and preparing minor design and structural details;�\r\n Ability to utilize computer software.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Candidates must be able to meet the experience and training requirements of the designated job class at the completion of the development program.�\r\n

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

\r\n\r\n Academic or professional experience researching and preparing reports, memoranda, communications and other documents;\r\n Academic or professional experience with sources of air pollution and air pollution control technologies;\r\n Academic or professional experience interpreting and applying state and federal laws and regulations;\r\n Academic or professional experience with operations of and emissions from electric generating units or with regional electricity markets;\r\n Academic or professional experience gathering, organizing, analyzing and presenting datasets using spreadsheets and database applications;\r\n Academic or professional experience communicating technical information to the general public, stakeholder groups, public interest groups or students; and\r\n Academic or professional experience working alone or on a team to solve a problem.\r\n\r\n\r\n
