Job Summary:

The Resilience and Adaptation in Hormones and Health (RAHH) Research Lab in the Women’s Behavioral Health and Wellness Division within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a full-time Research Services Professional. The lab includes seven principal investigators conducting research focused on sex and gender differences in neuropsychiatric conditions, women’s mental health across the lifespan, and the biological mechanisms underlying mental health and illness.

This position will primarily support Dr. Neill Epperson’s studies related to stress, adversity, biomarkers, depression, maternal health, and novel treatments such as esketamine. A major responsibility of this role will be supporting the use and management of the Mobile Laboratory Van for community-based and field research, including coordination of mobile study visits, preparation of supplies and equipment, and ensuring the van is ready for study-related activities.

The Research Services Professional will also support day-to-day study operations, including recruitment, screening, scheduling, consent, assessments, fMRI visits, biospecimen (i.e., blood, saliva, and hair) collection and processing, data management, and regulatory documentation. Their extent of involvement in any other research projects will be assigned by their supervisor. This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced research setting.

 

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with regulatory compliance, including preparation of study documents such as informed consent forms, protocols, and applications; IRB submissions; OnCore Clinical Trial Management System functions; and submissions through the Human Subjects Research Portal.

  • Support clinical research activities, including participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, informed consent, scheduling, retention, and reimbursement.

  • Support the use, coordination, and day-to-day management of the Mobile Laboratory Van for community-based and field research activities, including preparing supplies and equipment, coordinating mobile study visits, maintaining readiness for study operations, and supporting safe and organized use of the van.

  • Assist with diagnostic and clinical research assessments and present participant cases to study teams to help determine eligibility.

  • Coordinate communication with participants, families, clinicians, and research team members to support study activities and participant engagement.

  • Collect, enter, and manage study data, including chart reviews, study records, and REDCap database development and maintenance.

  • Assist with fMRI visits and biospecimen collection, processing, and related study procedures.

  • Support agency reporting efforts and study data uploads, including NIH reporting requirements.

 

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2-5 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

 

Work hours are generally Monday through Friday; however, flexibility is required, and occasional weekend or early evening work may be necessary to accommodate participant schedules, conduct study-related activities, and meet research project timelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Entry level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field from an accredited institution

  • One (1) year clinical research or related experience

 

Intermediate Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, social/behavioral sciences, healthcare, or health sciences

  • Two (2) years of experience in clinical research.

 

An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment.

 

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

 

Preferred Qualifications (Entry):

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or health related field

  • Clinical research or related experience

  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)

 

Preferred Qualifications (Intermediate):

  • Phlebotomy experience or willingness to complete phlebotomy training

  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish – written and oral proficiency

  • Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems) 

  • Demonstrated knowledge in building and maintaining REDCap databases for study data collection

  • Study administration experience including submission history in COMIRB, and ONCORE

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE

  • Entry level: ($49,899 – $63,472).
