Assistant Manager – Storeroom

The hiring salary for this position is $65,000.

The Assistant Manager - Storeroom will work in conjunction with Manager - Storeroom in supervising all aspects of daily storeroom operations. This position is responsible for the immediate supervision Stock Specialists and student workers. This person is the front-line contact for all customers calling or coming into the area requiring assistance.  The Assistant Manager will assume purchasing duties when demand dictates and ensures proper function of storeroom in any and all operational areas and take responsibility for all operations in the Manager’s absence.

• →Supervise issue and receiving areas and staff in conjunction with Manager - Storeroom.
• →Ensure all same day and daily orders are filled correctly with quality product and proper inventory control.
• →Ensure proper staging of kitchen orders for PM pick up.
• →Manage storeroom responsibilities relative to kitchen-prepared stocks including communicating information to Associate Dean and meat room and ensure proper storage and rotation.
• →Ensure food deliveries to outlying kitchens are completed as needed.
• →Conduct daily audits of kitchen orders ensuring quality of ingredients and accuracy of inventory control.
• →Verify quality standards are met on all products; handling any quality or fill problems that may arise with students or instructors.
• →Ensure proper daily upkeep and maintenance of department vehicles. Communicate to Manager when any repairs are required.
• →Participate in proper training of new hires.
• →Manage completion of all daily cleaning tasks as well as ensure constant general safety and sanitation of the facility.
• →Coordinate with receiving dock team to ensure proper storage and receipt of incoming merchandise and packages.
• →Utilize EATEC food ordering system at advanced level, including issuing, purchasing, and receiving processes to maintain proper inventory control of storeroom warehouse.
• →Assist in routine or monthly physical inventories as required.
• →Maintain knowledge of all products and product lines handled in Warehouse One system.
• →Cover inventories and purchases as required in buyer’s absence or as demand dictates.
• →Direct training, time keeping and supervision of student workers.  Work in conjunction with Manager in hiring student staff.
• →Any and all other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

• Three (3) years of culinary or foodservice experience working with a range of culinary ingredients.

• Associates degree in Business, Hospitality or related field.
• Food, Beverage and Non-Food purchasing and/or distribution experience.
• Graduate of an accredited culinary school.
• Purchasing/inventory system experience with EATEC or similar system.
• Familiarity with procedures to receive packages through ‘Track It’ System, when needed.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to show a high level of service responsiveness to customers.
• Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
• Basic computer skills including familiarity of Microsoft Office suite products, i.e. Word and Excel.
• Skilled in the operation of standard warehouse equipment.
• Intermediate level math proficiency.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Must be available to work overtime on nights and weekends based upon business needs.
• Regular work requires a great deal of sitting, standing, lifting, bending and stretching.
• Must be able to stand for eight (8) hours.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures hot and cold for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Ability to lift and move up to one-hundred (100) pounds or more with assistance.
