We have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant Policy Officer within the Circular Economy Policy Branch at the NSW Environment Protection Authority. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and regulatory policies and frameworks to deliver better outcomes for the environment and the people of NSW.
The Circular Economy Policy Branch leads key initiatives, including the phase-out of single-use and unnecessary plastics, the development of product stewardship schemes under the Product Lifecycle Responsibility Act 2025, and the Waste and Circular Infrastructure Plan.
You are a capable and motivated policy professional with a strong interest in further expanding your research, analysis, and writing skills.
You can translate complex technical, economic and regulatory issues into clear, relevant advice to your supervisor as an input to the development of policy positions and advice for senior stakeholders, such as the Executive and the Minister.
You have experience in supporting the development of high-quality briefings, reports and correspondence, and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You work well both independently and collaboratively, and are comfortable supporting stakeholder engagement, consultations and project delivery.
You are adaptable, organised and outcome-focused, with an understanding of policy development and a commitment to evidence-based decision-making.
