About the Role
~1 min readOur Natural Resources Access Regulator (NRAR) team is currently seeking to appoint a Compliance Officer to play a key role in protecting NSW’s resources. You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring water is used lawfully and responsibly across the state. This is a dynamic role where you’ll combine investigation, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving to drive compliance with water legislation. You’ll undertake field work as part of compliance campaigns and work closely with communities, landholders and industry to promote understanding, change behaviour and support fair and sustainable water sharing for future generations.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Undertake compliance activities to investigate potential breaches of water regulations and legislation, and prepare reports to support enforcement outcomes
- →Analyse and interpret water resource data to inform regulatory decisions
- →Engage with landholders and stakeholders to provide guidance and education
- →Prepare briefings, reports and Ministerial correspondence
- →Contribute to continuous improvement of compliance and regulatory practices
- Interpreting and applying complex water legislation and policies
- Producing high-quality work suitable for legal or court processes
- Working as part of a geographically dispersed team and travelling to regional and remote locations
- Experience in compliance, regulation, investigations or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confidence engaging and influencing a wide range of stakeholders
- High level of integrity, accountability and professionalism
Requirements
~1 min read- Hold a current NSW Driver's Licence and a willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays.
- Appointment is subject to the successful applicant satisfactorily passing the criminal record check.
