The EPA is a statutory authority with an independent, expertise-based governing Board that oversees and monitors the EPA. Our Board members must collectively have skills and experience in environmental law and science and engineering; corporate, financial and risk planning and management; business; human health; compliance and regulation; local government; stakeholder engagement and communications; digital information and data management; and Aboriginal cultural values.
There is currently one part-time Board role available, and we are seeking candidates with skills and experience relevant to the EPA Board and particularly welcome applications from those with skills and experience in the areas of:
• environmental science or engineering
• environmental law and
• compliance and regulation
Members of the Board will contribute to the long-term strategic planning of the EPA, including governance and oversight of the EPA’s strategic direction and performance, and providing expert advice and support to the Minister, Chair and CEO on any matter relating to the protection of the environment.

$60,000 per annum
You will have substantial skills and experience, supported by relevant qualifications, in one or more of the following areas outlined above.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to consult and influence at the highest levels of industry, government (including local government) and non-government sectors are essential.
The competence to contribute to effective decision making in a Board context and a sound understanding of the regulatory environment and environmental legislation, would be highly desirable. High level senior leadership and/or board experience and governance credentials, through experience or training such as the AICD course, will be well regarded.
