Principal Planning Officer

About the Role
~1 min read- Extensive experience assessing complex development, infrastructure, housing or environmental proposals in a government, consultancy or regulatory environment.
- Strong knowledge of environmental planning legislation, statutory assessment processes and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify key issues, evaluate complex information and develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality assessment reports, planning advice, recommendations and conditions of consent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex planning matters to a range of audiences.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with experience resolving contentious issues and balancing competing interests.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities, risks and demanding timeframes.
- Sound professional judgement, resilience and accountability when dealing with complex, sensitive and high-profile matters.
- Experience contributing to policy, business improvement or improvements to assessment processes and practices.
Requirements
~2 min read- Degree in planning, environmental management, engineering or other relevant discipline
- Willingness to travel and (minimum) Class C Driver’s Licence
