We have an exciting new opportunity for a Program Officer to support the development and implementation of strategy, policy and programs projects that deliver enhanced environmental outcomes.
The role also provides analysis and advice for policy development to support EPA initiatives and commitments.
The Policy, Programs and Finance Division leads a number of EPA initiatives, such as the Waste and Circular Infrastructure Plan and product stewardship schemes under the Product Lifecycle Responsibility Act 2025.
You are a motivated and detail-oriented professional with experience supporting the design, coordination, and delivery of programs or projects, preferably within a policy, strategy, or environmental context. You have strong analytical skills and are confident working with data and information to inform sound reporting, evaluation, and decision-making.
You communicate clearly and effectively, with the ability to prepare high-quality briefings, correspondence, and reports that are well-researched, balanced, and aligned with organisational priorities. You are comfortable managing multiple tasks and contributing to the coordination of projects, including working with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
You bring a collaborative approach and are able to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver outcomes. You are organised, proactive, and committed to supporting improved environmental outcomes through effective program delivery and continuous improvement.
You are also adaptable and willing to represent the organisation when required, contributing positively to its reputation and objectives.
Requirements
~1 min read- Good understanding of the workings of state government and knowledge of the relevant environmental legislation and regulatory practices for the EPA.
- Strong experience in developing and delivering resources, and programs for a range of stakeholder groups aimed at building capacity.
- Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring stakeholders to achieve program objectives.
