We have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Officer to join the NSW EPA. This role undertakes delegated projects and develops and coordinates guidelines and policies on issues relating to Branch programs for the adoption and implementation by the organisation and stakeholders.
This role provides regulatory, environmental and corporate performance analysis, including annual corporate planning and performance reporting, to support good governance, risk management, accountability and improved regulatory performance. To succeed, you will need excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to build productive relationships while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will have skills/experience to deliver the following:
- Support high quality environmental and corporate performance oversight, and ongoing improvement of performance oversight, including the annual report, annual regulatory assurance statement, the EPA’s State of the Environment Report, and quarterly reporting to senior leaders and the Board.
- Partner with functional areas across the agency to develop and maintain relevant performance metrics, methods and targets, and ensure alignment with new and existing frameworks and the EPA’s Strategic Plan.
- Contribute to processes and activities to ensure the agency meets its statutory and whole of government reporting obligations to the Executive, Agency, Treasury, Premier’s Department, the Cabinet Office and others as required.
- Provide timely advice to internal stakeholders on planning, performance monitoring, business analysis and improvement within new and existing frameworks and establish and maintain stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to engage stakeholders and ensure planning and performance reporting deliverables are met.
- Manage a range of complex high-profile projects that relate to NSW government and EPA priorities. Lead the gathering, review, analysis and presentation of project data to effectively meet reporting and project evaluation requirements and outcomes.
- Draft and present reports, submissions and briefing notes on a range of Branch/Section issues for management, other government agencies and the Minister’s Office.
