In this role, you’ll partner with stakeholders across the organisation to strengthen safety capability, promote a positive and proactive safety culture, and support the delivery of practical WHS initiatives that contribute to a safe and healthy workforce.

Working collaboratively with stakeholders and the broader safety team, you’ll contribute to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of WHS programs, systems, policies and procedures. You’ll provide advice on WHS risk management and incident activities, help identify emerging risks and trends, and use incident data and insights to inform recommendations and preventative strategies. You’ll also play an important role in building risk awareness and safe work practices across a diverse organisation operating within a complex regulatory environment.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and relevant Australian and international standards, with experience providing WHS advice and support, ideally within high-risk operational environments.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline and/or relevant experience.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex WHS matters clearly and provide practical, considered advice to diverse audiences.

  • Experience supporting WHS risk management, incident management and preventative strategies, with the ability to identify emerging risks and recommend effective controls and improvements.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret WHS data and trends and translate insights into practical recommendations and improvements.

  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to build effective relationships, influence positive safety behaviours and contribute to a strong safety culture.

  • The ability to plan, prioritise and manage competing demands, while adapting to changing priorities and working effectively within a complex organisation.
