As a Senior Internal Auditor, you'll support the Manager, Audit by coordinating and conducting internal audits and risk-related activities. Your role involves ensuring these audits are completed on time and meet professional standards, while also providing valuable advice to improve governance, risk management, and control effectiveness across the agency.
You'll face challenges such as applying innovative audit techniques (including data analytics), managing a high-volume and diverse workload, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. Your key responsibilities include developing audit plans, conducting audits, drafting audit findings and reports and presenting these to stakeholders providing high-level advice, and ensuring the implementation of audit recommendations and improving the internal processes and reporting of the Internal Audit team.

Responsibilities

- →Risk Management Skills: Developing and implementing risk-based audit plans and strategies.
- →Advisory Capabilities: Providing high-level advice on internal controls, business processes, risk management, and governance.
- →Data Analysis Proficiency: Applying data analytical and modelling tools to evaluate risks and controls.
- →Relationship Building: Maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- →Project Management: Coordinating and tracking the implementation of audit recommendations and producing periodic reports.
- →Fraud Prevention: Assisting in the development and implementation of fraud and corruption prevention strategies.
- →Adaptability: Managing a high-volume, diverse workload while applying innovative audit techniques.
- →Communication Skills: Delivering clear, concise, and practical recommendations to support continuous improvement.
Requirements
~1 min read- Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CA, CPA, CIA, CISA)
- Membership with a relevant professional body such as the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and/or Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA)
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking internal audit engagements including preparing internal audit reports and documentation.
- A Criminal History Check is a requirement of this role.
