  • Senior Policy Officer (Environment Officer Class 9)
  • Temporary full-time opportunity (up to 30 June 2028) – successful candidate likely to commence from 1 October 2026
  • Office location is Parramatta (hybrid working supported)
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $124,322 to $138,494 + super

 

Our Conservation Programs, Heritage and Regulation Group (CPHR) is seeking a Senior Policy Officer to join the Policy and Reform team in the Biodiversity Offsets Branch.

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will play a key role in developing and refining policy settings that underpin the operation and reform of the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme. You will contribute to the design, development and delivery of evidence-based policy advice, lead and coordinate projects, undertake research and analysis, and engage with stakeholders across government, industry and the community.

 

To be successful, you will be flexible, organised, with an attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines, ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, ability to collaborate and consult with a range of stakeholders, and ability to critically evaluate policy and think strategically.

  • Understanding of the machinery of Government and the policy process, or demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge quickly.
  • Experience in providing support and advice at the senior executive level.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state, to support the environment, communities and industry.
