Senior Project Officer (Infrastructure)

• Clerk Grade 9-10
• Salary relative to experience ($133,348-$146,945) plus employer's contribution to superannuation

Join NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and help protect some of Australia’s most iconic natural and cultural landscapes.

This newly created role within the Asset & Infrastructure team is responsible for planning and delivering maintenance and asset renewal  projects for visitor and operational infrastructure across new NPWS parks and reserves in the Central West and West Darling Areas.  As a trusted infrastructure specialist, you will help strengthen NPWS's capital infrastructure management capability across new land acquisitions, ensuring existing assets are effectively managed to support government priorities and organisational objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing capital works, renewals and upgrade projects across geographically dispersed locations.
• Coordinate all stages of project delivery, from scoping and concept development through to completion and final documentation.
• Ensuring procurement activities comply with NSW Government Procurement Policies and DCCEEW procedures, including:
• Preparing and managing Mini Minor Works (MMW), Minor Works (MW21) and GC21 tender and contract documentation.
• Administering MMW, MW21 and GC21 contracts.
• Creating work orders and purchase requisitions, goods receipting, partial work order completion and project close-out activities.
• Establishing and maintaining GIS databases, including capturing and validating spatial and asset data from multiple sources.
• Using NPWS enterprise systems, including ESRI spatial software and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems, to support infrastructure and asset data management.

The role includes occasional fully supported travel to remote locations across the West Branch, a diverse region covering approximately half of NSW, from the sub-alpine slopes and tablelands to riverine landscapes and semi-arid environments.  You’ll be collaborating with a passionate team in some truly spectacular outdoor locations.

You are a highly organised project professional with a passion for the environment, strong attention to detail, and proven project management skills. To be successful, you'll bring:

• Experience working with government agencies, project managers, engineering disciplines and construction contractors.
• Ability to provide specialist advice and support project delivery, managing emerging issues while meeting project plans, budgets, timeframes, policy requirements and environmental objectives.
• Working knowledge of GIS concepts and their application in environmental and asset management.
• Experience using spatial data and ESRI GIS products.
• Knowledge of geodatabase management and data standards.
• A current driver's licence.

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience.
• Project management skills and experience with an understanding of contemporary best practice in procurement, tendering and contract preparation, in managing project teams, consultants and contractors, and in applying environmental safety and risk management policies and systems.
• Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and reviewing strategic plans, policies and programs, and in providing strategic and operational advice and recommendations to senior management.
