• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $138,454 pa to $152,686 pa + super

Our Grants Concierge, Design & Initiation team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer Programs to play a lead role in turning government priorities and funding commitments into well-designed, delivery-ready grant programs that achieve meaningful outcomes for communities, industry and the environment across NSW.

The Grants Concierge, Design & Initiation team works across the Department to provide specialist support at the earliest stages of new grant and funding initiatives, helping teams move from an initial policy or funding concept to a robust, approved and delivery-ready program.

As a Senior Project Officer Programs, you will provide specialist advice and leadership on the design and establishment of grant programs and funding initiatives across DCCEEW. Working closely with policy, program and executive stakeholders, you will develop grant frameworks, governance arrangements, business cases, funding proposals and implementation plans that ensure programs are strategically aligned, operationally ready and positioned for successful delivery.

You will work across a diverse portfolio of emerging and high-priority funding initiatives, often engaging early in their development to help translate policy intent into practical, robust and deliverable grant programs. You will undertake complex research and analysis, provide strategic advice to senior decision-makers, facilitate stakeholder consultation and help shape best-practice grants administration across the department. Joining a highly experienced team, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while supporting the successful transition of new grant programs from concept through to delivery.

About You
You are an experienced project or program professional with a strong background in designing, establishing or managing grant programs and funding initiatives, ideally within government or another complex organisational environment. You have demonstrated experience developing key program design and establishment documents and processes, such as business cases, funding proposals, governance frameworks and implementation plans, and have a sound understanding of grants governance, probity, risk management and compliance requirements. You can analyse complex information, identify emerging issues and develop practical solutions enables you to confidently navigate competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.

You are a skilled communicator and relationship builder who can influence diverse stakeholders, facilitate productive consultation and achieve consensus on complex matters. You thrive in collaborative environments, bring a strategic mindset to your work and are comfortable providing clear, evidence-based advice to senior leaders. With strong project management capabilities, resilience and accountability, you can effectively manage multiple priorities while mentoring others, fostering positive working relationships and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
