Our Conservation Programs, Heritage and Regulation team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Team Leader – Project Planning, Monitoring and Reporting to provide strategic leadership across project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting functions that support the effective delivery of the Biodiversity Conservation Program. This role will lead an expert team responsible for developing frameworks, analysing project performance and driving continuous improvement to maximise conservation outcomes across NSW.

In this role, you will drive data-informed decision making through biodiversity data analysis, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and high-quality reporting to government and key stakeholders. You will support delivery teams to develop accurate, costed project plans, oversee governance requirements for major projects, and provide strategic advice that strengthens program performance and accountability. Working collaboratively across a diverse stakeholder network, you will play a critical role in ensuring conservation investments are effectively planned, measured and reported.

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience leading project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting functions within complex programs or environmental initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Improvement (MERI) principles and their application to program performance and outcomes assessment.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex data, generate insights and support evidence-based decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Experience developing and implementing frameworks, systems and processes that improve project planning, governance, reporting and evaluation outcomes at scale.
  • Highly developed written communication skills, with experience preparing high-quality reports, briefings and advice for senior executives and government stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build collaborative partnerships across diverse groups.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability with experience managing teams, resources and competing priorities to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, improve systems and develop practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent professional experience.
