The Facilities Manager oversees, manages, and directs operational activities, maintenance work, contracted projects, installations, and general care of all City cultural and related facilities. Establishes plans and performs moderately complex management.
Responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of construction trades and all facets of facility maintenance.
Knowledge of human relations and supervision necessary to function as a first or second level supervisor.
Ability to plan, assign, train, direct, and evaluate clerical/administrative, trade/technical, or professional employees.
Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Ability to read various complex schematic diagrams and blueprints.
Ability to develop and implement budget for facilities and associated maintenance work.
Ability to handle challenging, emergent, and complex situations.
Ability to understand technical terminology of the specialization assigned.
Communicating effectively both orally and in writing with a wide variety of people.
Ability to maintain record keeping or work log system.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or an Architectural field.
- Four (4) years of experience in building/facility operations, building trades, or building maintenance with responsibility for contract and budget administration and procuring building equipment/materials.
- Two (2) years of management/supervisory responsibilities. (This experience may be included in the required experience listed above.)
- High school diploma or GED plus eight (8) years of the required experience, including two (2) years of management/supervisory responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Associate degree in any field plus six (6) years of the required experience, including two (2) years of management/supervisory responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a non-specified field plus six (6) years or the required experience, including two (2) years of management/supervisory responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Master's degree (or higher) in a specified field plus two (2) years of the required experience, including two (2) years of management/supervisory responsibilities, will meet the education and experience requirements.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must be able to obtain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within the probationary period.
Requirements
~1 min read- Subject to 24-hour calls, inclement weather conditions, and varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires continuous standing, walking, and bending.
- No felony or Class A misdemeanor convictions.
- No Class B misdemeanor convictions within the last ten (10) years.
- No family violence convictions.
- Cannot currently be on deferred adjudication for any felony, Class A, or Class B misdemeanor charge.
Salary Range
The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
