ABOUT THE ROLE
The Investment Intern will join Data4's Investment team, which drives the group's growth and funding strategy. To fuel its expansion, Data4 pursues M&A transactions, greenfield acquisitions, and follow-on investments across existing campuses — while simultaneously managing a multi-source funding strategy spanning both debt and equity.
In this role, you will work closely with Investment Associates, Managers, and senior team members on strategic analyses, financial modelling, market research, underwriting support, and stakeholder materials. You will gain strong exposure to corporate strategy and high-value investment topics within the fast-growing digital infrastructure sector.
We are looking for someone who is curious, rigorous and proactive — eager to learn in a fast-paced, international environment, with a genuine interest in finance, infrastructure, and valuations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Funding Strategy:
- Support the development and monitoring of the debt financing strategy
- Stay current on capital market conditions affecting Data4 business
- Track capital market conditions and monitor peer activity in structured finance
Growth Strategy
- Assist in underwriting new investment opportunities (greenfield/brownfield): market research, data processing, benchmarking, preliminary financial modelling.
- Prepare and structure internal presentations.
- Assist in coordinating due diligence alongside internal teams and external advisers.
- Contribute to valuation exercises under the supervision of the Investment Manager.
Corporate Strategy
- Assist with materials for the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.
- Support updates of the group’s business plan model: data checks, projections, scenario testing.
- Perform ad-hoc strategic and financial analyses as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree in engineering, finance, economics, management, or a related field.
- Previous internship in finance, investment banking, private equity, infrastructure, real estate, or consulting is a plus.
Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
- Basic understanding of financial modelling and valuation (DCF, comparables).
- Excellent command of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn in a demanding environment.
- Fluency in English; French or another European language is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
