About the Opportunity
David Zwirner is seeking a Design Intern to work closely with the design team’s Senior Designer, Design Project Manager, and the Design Director. The intern will assist with all things related to David Zwirner’s design including but not limited to: exhibition invitations, ads, social assets, and the production of bespoke projects.
Qualified candidates for this position should be self motivated, organized, detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and have an interest in art and design as it applies to a commercial gallery.
Responsibilities
~1 min readDay to day requests from the marketing, digital marketing, content, events and social teams:
- →Bespoke designs for online and print applications. Templated digital and print ads, social assets, invitations, and newsletters. This will require adapting existing design systems to various formats
You will learn and improve on the following:
- →Development of design directions
- →Visual research
- →Asset organization
- →Working with type, grids, layout, and sequence
- →Prepping/exporting assets for print/online
- Basic working knowledge of Figma, Indesign, Photoshop and After Effects.
- A strong interest in the contemporary art world.
- A proactive mindset—comfortable seeking out tasks, asking questions, and taking ownership of work.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
The Summer internship runs from June through mid-August. Hours are 10AM – 6PM, 5 days a week. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of approximately 3 months for this role. All interns are paid NYC minimum wage of $17/hour. All candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided.
