Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for directly supervising, supporting, organizing, evaluating and directing the\r\nwork of three Financial Services Supervisors who manage the primary financial functions of the City;\r\nincluding income tax administration, payroll, disbursements, and financial\r\nanalysis. Carries out upper-level management, supervisory and professional responsibilities in\r\naccordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring,\r\ntraining and coaching employees. Planning, assigning, directing, reviewing, and evaluating work product and\r\noutcomes. Appraising employee and team performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing\r\ncomplaints and resolving problems. Must maintain a thorough knowledge of administrative policies and procedures, standard\r\noperating guidelines/procedures, and a comprehensive understanding of current public finance standards,\r\nrules, and regulations.\r\n
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a\r\nclosely related field AND seven years of progressively more responsible professional-level work in finance,\r\naccounting, collections, or a closely related field, preferably in a governmental agency AND five years of\r\nsupervisory experience and project management experience.\r\n\r\n\r\nOR�\r\n\r\n\r\nMaster’s Degree in Accounting, Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a closely\r\nrelated field AND five years of progressively more responsible professional-level work in finance, accounting,\r\ncollections, customer service, or a closely related field, preferably in a governmental agency.�\r\n\r\n\r\nA CPA is preferred and may be substituted for five years of the experience listed above as long as the candidate\r\nhas two years of supervisory experience.�\r\n\r\n\r\nCurrent certification from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) or the Association of\r\nGovernmental Accountants (AGA) is preferred and may be substituted for one year of the experience listed\r\nabove as long as the candidate has one year of supervisory or project management experience.\r\n
License Requirements
Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.\r\n
