About the Role

The Senior Coordinator, Audio Visual Engineering leads the delivery of audio visual engineering services, projects and continuous improvement initiatives that support teaching, learning and operational activities across the University. The role provides expert technical advice and applies advanced professional knowledge to ensure the effective delivery, performance and ongoing enhancement of the University’s AV infrastructure and services, aligning outcomes with University priorities and customer needs.

 

  • Lead a team of audio-visual engineers, balancing priorities, workload capacity, and capability
  • Partner with project delivery teams to gather requirements for audiovisual engineering services
  • Drive design, development, and innovation initiatives across processes and the department
  • Continuously improve service processes and delivery frameworks, with a focus on efficiency and reducing duplicated effort
  • Oversee change and problem management within the wider audio-visual services team.     
  • Postgraduate qualifications or extensive relevant experience and management expertise; or equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training
  • Experience leading programs or functions
  • Strong analytical and strategic capability
  • Ability to influence stakeholders
  • Industry experience in the management of enterprise level audio visual services and solutions, integrators and vendors across multiple sites
  • Experience in delivering AV projects using project tools (MS Project, JIRA etc) in large complex organisations
  • Working knowledge of IT networks and the expectation to work with peers in the Deakin Networks and Systems teams to ensure the smooth and well documented implementation of converged AV over IP systems and services.
