About the Role

The Senior Officer, Admissions and Scholarships is responsible for coordinating and delivering admissions, enrolment and scholarship activities for higher degree by research programs. This includes planning and prioritising work, analysing information to assess applications, and making informed decisions within established policies. The role requires identifying and resolving issues efficiently, while providing clear, practical advice to internal and external stakeholders that supports effective outcomes.

  • Plan and prioritise work and critical activities, recognising barriers and identifying effective ways to address them while evaluating progress and adjusting approach.
  • Investigate problems and select appropriate solutions from a range of alternatives.
  • Build productive stakeholder relationships and communicate with confidence and clarity.
  • Provide advice that addresses underlying issues and delivers practical outcomes.
  • Coordinate activities or projects to deliver outcomes within agreed constraints.
  • Experience in admissions, enrolments, scholarships and in a student services environment.
  • Strong customer service focus and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work across teams.
  • Experience providing professional advice and delivering outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the policies and issues relating to research and research training in a tertiary environment.
  • Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and specialist knowledge; or equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
