This is a rare opportunity to help shape the future of clinical research through the growing Deakin–Barwon Health Alliance. At a pivotal stage of its development, you'll play a key leadership role in expanding clinical trial opportunities, strengthening research capability and fostering strategic partnerships across healthcare, academia and industry. Drawing on your clinical and research expertise, you'll mentor emerging researchers, influence the direction of a growing clinical trials ecosystem and help build a sustainable model for future growth. Working alongside respected leaders and collaborators, this role offers the opportunity to extend your impact beyond your own research program and contribute to a legacy for the region and its communities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and help secure new clinical trial opportunities that expand research impact and capability.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships across healthcare, academia, industry and government.
  • Mentor and support emerging researchers, helping grow the next generation of clinical trial leaders.
  • Contribute to the growth and direction of the Deakin–Barwon Health Alliance's clinical research agenda.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and research partners to shape the future of clinical trials in the region.
  • PhD (or equivalent research experience) in a relevant health discipline, or qualification as a fully qualified medical specialist.
  • Current AHPRA registration, GCP certification and eligibility to meet Barwon Health Principal Investigator credentialing requirements.
  • Proven expertise in paediatric clinical research, with experience identifying and developing clinical trial opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success leading clinical trials and translating research opportunities into impactful programs of work.
  • Experience building collaborative research partnerships across universities, health services and industry.
