Dynamics 365 Automation Test Engineer

12-month contract role based in Sandton

A leading bank based in Sandton is looking for a highly detail-oriented Dynamics 365 Automation Test Engineer to join a fast-paced delivery environment focused on quality engineering, automation, and enterprise-scale Dynamics 365 solutions.

This role is ideal for a quality-focused professional with strong Dynamics 365 testing experience and hands-on exposure to automated regression testing using Playwright.

• 3–6 years' experience as a Software Quality Engineer or Test Analyst within Dynamics 365 or CRM platforms
• Strong test analysis and test design capability
• Hands-on experience building Playwright automation scripts
• Experience working in complex, regulated environments
• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset
• Ability to challenge poor-quality requirements constructively
• Good understanding of Agile delivery methodologies

• Advanced Diploma or National Degree
• ISTQB Agile
• ISTQB Advanced
• Agile and/or DevOps training

• Define and execute the Dynamics 365 testing strategy
• Plan and perform:
• Functional testing
• Regression testing (automation-led)
• Integration testing
• UAT support
• Validate delivered solutions against approved business requirements
• Ensure adequate test coverage across:
• Configuration
• Custom code
• Workflows and automation
• Integrations
• Raise, manage, and track defects through to resolution
• Provide go/no-go quality recommendations for releases
• Ensure all releases meet agreed quality, performance, and compliance standards

• Test and validate:
• D365 entities, forms, views, and business rules
• Security roles and access models
• Plugins, JavaScript, and web resources
• Power Automate flows
• Differentiate and validate configuration versus customisation
• Perform and approve automated regression testing
• Validate data integrity and end-to-end business process outcomes
• Assess cross-environment impacts across DEV, QA, UAT, and PROD

• Create and maintain:
• Test plans
• Test cases
• Requirement-mapped test scenarios
• Ensure requirement-to-test traceability
• Maintain adequate regression coverage
• Contribute to defect root cause analysis
• Promote a shift-left quality mindset
• Execute both manual and Playwright-based automated testing

• Operate within Agile/Kanban delivery teams
• Participate in:
• Backlog refinement
• Sprint planning
• Showcases
• Collaborate closely with:
• Business Analysts
• Developers
• Stakeholders
• Support UAT execution and stakeholder confidence

• Perform hands-on testing across multiple environments
• Support controlled deployments and release pipelines
• Ensure audit-ready testing evidence
• Support release governance and change readiness activities
