The Modular Construction Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing on-
site construction activities for modular building projects, including coordination between
manufacturing, logistics, installation, and multiple active construction locations across a
project site. This role oversees field operations, subcontractor coordination, safety
compliance, quality assurance, schedule execution, and site readiness to ensure
modular buildings and associated scopes are delivered efficiently, safely, and in
alignment with project goals. The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader,
working closely with Project Managers, manufacturing teams, subcontractors,
inspectors, and site crews to deliver high-quality installations while maintaining strict
adherence to company standards, building codes, and safety requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily field operations for modular building construction, site
installation, and related building scopes from mobilization through completion
Coordinate closely with manufacturing teams to align off-site production, module
readiness, delivery sequencing, field installation, and project schedule
requirements
Oversee multiple construction locations or work zones on a project site, ensuring
each area is properly staffed, sequenced, coordinated, and maintained
Coordinate daily work schedules for subcontractors, vendors, self-perform labor
crews, technicians, foremen, and site team members
Conduct daily safety meetings, stretch and flex meetings, and jobsite walks to
reinforce safety expectations, communicate labor goals, and address issues in
real time
Monitor safety, quality, productivity, manpower, material deliveries, equipment
usage, and site logistics across all active work areas
Ensure all work complies with project plans, specifications, building codes,
inspection requirements, company standards, and owner expectations
Review project drawings, specifications, scope documents, installation details,
and delivery plans to guide field execution
Track project milestones, identify schedule deviations, and implement corrective
actions to maintain project timelines
Coordinate inspections with local authorities, third-party inspectors, and internal
quality teams to support timely approvals and turnover
Communicate progress, risks, constraints, and solutions to Project Managers,
manufacturing leadership, and key stakeholders
Complete and review daily reports, labor records, production updates, safety
observations, quality concerns, and cost impacts
Support financial tracking, forecasting, and change management through project
management systems
Conduct weekly pre-planning to align labor, materials, equipment, module
deliveries, inspections, and upcoming work activities
Enforce job site safety standards, conduct safety audits, and ensure compliance
with OSHA and company policies
Maintain clean, organized, safe, and efficient work areas across the project site
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; additional construction, technical, or trade
training preferred
Minimum of 5 years of construction field leadership experience, preferably in
modular construction, commercial construction, or large-scale site development
Experience coordinating construction activities across multiple work zones,
buildings, or active locations on a project site
Strong understanding of modular building installation, construction sequencing,
site logistics, material staging, and field coordination
Ability to coordinate between off-site manufacturing operations and on-site
construction execution
Ability to read, interpret, and redline construction drawings, schedules,
specifications, installation plans, and scope documents
Working knowledge of building codes, inspection requirements, quality
standards, and construction best practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Bluebeam, Adobe, and
construction management software
Strong leadership, organization, communication, problem-solving, and decision-
making skills
Ability to coordinate effectively with Project Managers, manufacturing teams,
subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field crews
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights as needed, and remain on foot for
extended periods
OSHA 10 certification preferred; OSHA 30 and additional safety certifications are
a plus
Work Experience
Experience working in modular building, commercial construction, industrial
construction, or large-scale site development environments preferred
Experience managing field operations across multiple construction locations,
buildings, phases, or work zones required
Experience coordinating with manufacturing, logistics, delivery, and installation
teams is strongly preferred
