Senior Medical Affairs Specialist, UK - South. This role covers the Birmingham, Southampton, Oxford and Bristol territory. Applicants must be based within, or have the ability to work effectively across, this region. The role involves significant time spent within the defined territory, with occasional travel required at a national level. Meet the team: Our Medical Affairs team is growing, recognising the important impact that medical advice and education plays in shaping the future of diabetes management using continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology. As a key member of the cross functional team, you will be at the forefront of scientific engagement, working closely with; and educating; healthcare professionals withing the diabetes care ecosystem, many of whom will have limited experience of the life changing power of Dexcom CGM systems. This role will give you the opportunity to influence and shape clinical practice, collaborate with thought leaders in diabetes care, and most importantly make a real impact on the lives of people living with diabetes. You will be joining a Medical Affairs team that fully understands the impact that a highly communicative, dynamic and forward-thinking individual can have on health systems and the future of patient care. Where you come in: As a Medical Affairs Advisor at Dexcom, you will: * Engage with healthcare professionals specialising in diabetes care (e.g. endocrinology, diabetology, specialist nursing) to build and maintain strong scientific and clinical relationships, ensuring that Dexcom’s CGM is well integrated into clinical practice. * Deliver impactful diabetes-focused medical education to healthcare professionals, ensuring that they understand the clinical impact of CGM technology. * Respond to medical inquiries with diabetes-specific evidence-based information, ensuring both healthcare professionals and internal teams have accurate, up-to-date information. * Support clinical and real-world evidence generation, including identifying potential future partners and supporting evidence dissemination. * Monitor the competitive landscape, staying ahead of industry trends and providing strategic insights to internal teams. * Represent Dexcom at conferences and medical events, sharing scientific and clinical expertise, and gathering insights from healthcare professionals and scientists to shape future strategies. * Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, market access, marketing and clinical teams to align to align diabetes medical strategies with business objectives. What makes you successful: * You are a highly effective communicator, able to engage with all healthcare professionals regardless of stature, and internal teams with confidence and credibility. * You have a strong scientific mindset with the ability to interpret and translate complex scientific and clinical data into meaningful insights. * You bring proven experience within diabetes (e.g. CGM, insulin, diabetes devices, endocrinology, or diabetes-focused pharma/medtech). * Previous experience in a Medical Affairs, MSL, Medical Advisor, or closely related role within diabetes is strongly preferred. * Your existing diabetes network enables you to engage confidently and add value quickly. * 5–8 years’ experience in Medical Affairs or a closely related scientific role, with demonstrable focus on diabetes or metabolic disease. * Hands‑on experience engaging with diabetes healthcare professionals is essential. Travel Required: * 15-25% Experience and Education Requirements: * Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 – 8 years of related experience. Remote Workplace: Your location will be a home office; you are not required to live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km) a hybrid working environment may be available. Ask about our Flex workplace option.
