A distinguished record of financial stewardship, budgeting, and strategic planning for capital and non-capital projects. 

An understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with undergraduate public higher education in the Commonwealth of Virginia and throughout the United States. 

Experience working with government agencies, legislative bodies, governing boards, or external partners to advance institutional priorities. 

Experience leading and managing multifaceted and decentralized organizations. 

Superior interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences. 

An understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision, values, traditions, and distinctive educational model of the Virginia Military Institute.
