Here at DIALOG, we are passionate about design and believe it can and should meaningfully improve the wellbeing of our communities and the environment we all share.

We are a multi-disciplinary practice of architects, interior designers, urban designers and planners, structural, mechanical and electrical engineers, landscape architects and sustainability experts who design for community wellbeing and urban vibrancy. We are a fun-loving bunch of big thinkers and city-shapers, who are collaborative in our approach, diverse in our perspectives, aspirational in our pursuits, and optimistic about what’s next. We’re always looking for passionate people who share our values and care as much about our communities as we do. We're proud to be a Certified B Corporation and one of Canada's Greenest Employers, committed to using our design practice as a force for good in the world.

DIALOG is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented People & Culture (P&C) Generalist to join our Toronto studio. In this role, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of People & Culture while helping foster a positive, engaging employee experience across the studio.

Working closely with the Toronto P&C Manager, you’ll help ensure the seamless delivery of core processes, provide frontline support to employees, and contribute to key programs and initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative, structured environment and enjoys building strong relationships across teams.

  • Deliver day-to-day People & Culture support to the Toronto studio, including onboarding, offboarding, employee documentation, and maintaining accurate employee records

  • Partner with the People & Culture Manager to implement and administer programs related to Total Rewards, engagement, and retention
  • Act as a reliable first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing clear guidance and support while escalating more complex employee relations matters as needed
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario employment legislation by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and supporting the application of policies and practices
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency across the Toronto studio’s P&C operations
  • Contribute to a positive, well-supported studio environment through a consistent in-person presence (minimum three days per week)
    • Support the coordination and delivery of key People & Culture initiatives, including engagement activities, and internal communications
    • Help bring programs to life locally by ensuring they are well-organized, clearly communicated, and effectively executed within the Toronto studio
    • Partner with the broader People & Culture team to ensure alignment and consistency across locations while tailoring support to local needs
    • Provide coordination support for recruitment activities across Canada as needed
    • Ensure a smooth and professional candidate experience through scheduling, communication, and process support
    • Use Lever ATS to maintain accurate candidate records and support hiring workflows
    • Assist with campus outreach and early talent initiatives, including career fairs, portfolio reviews, and internship/co-op programming
    • You have 2–5 years of experience in a People & Culture, Human Resources, or similar role
    • You are highly organized and take pride in delivering accurate, timely, and well-structured work
    • You bring a proactive mindset, with the ability to anticipate needs and follow through on details
    • You are approachable and responsive, with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing excellent employee support
    • You are comfortable handling sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
    • You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working closely with team members across functions
    • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and can convey information clearly and confidently
    • You are adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • You are interested in continuing to grow your career in People & Culture
    • Experience with HR systems (such as an ATS like Lever) or reporting tools
    • Familiarity with Ontario employment standards
