The Janitor independently cleans restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators/escalators, and other work areas. Duties involve sweeping, mopping floors, removing trash and recycling materials, dusting furniture and fixtures, polishing metalwork, and replenishing restroom supplies to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators/escalators, and other work areas.
- →Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
- →Dust furniture, fixtures, and equipment; polish metalwork and fittings.
- →Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, and sills.
- →Empty wastebaskets, transport trash to disposal areas, and recycle materials appropriately.
- →Replenish restroom supplies as needed.
- →Follow all safety standards and properly use cleaning equipment.
- →Maintain quality work and appropriate conduct in accordance with Didlake policies.
- →Complete and maintain all required Didlake training.
You bring previous custodial or janitorial experience, knowledge of general cleaning products and equipment, and the ability to follow safety procedures. Dependability, teamwork, and the ability to work effectively with people with disabilities are essential.
- High school diploma or GED, or
- Minimum of six (6) months of previous custodial or janitorial experience.
- A valid REAL ID is required to enter this worksite.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this worksite.
- Possess the ability to pass a background check and maintain a clearance.
- Ability to carry out simple but detailed instructions.
- Effective communication skills with co-workers, management, and customers.
- Positive team player attitude.
- Ability to interact effectively with employees with disabilities.
- Ability to work safely in environments with narrow, moving, and/or slippery surfaces.
- Ability to respond to emergency operations, including snow removal, as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and perform physical activities, including standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs.
- Maintain a positive and professional image when interacting with the public, co-workers, and Didlake clients.
