Software Engineer

Job summary

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer - Backend with 3+ years of experience to join our dynamic and innovative team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable web applications using Java on the backend and may require some work with React on the frontend. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable software that meets customer and business needs.

What you will do

• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, architects, and QA to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Design, develop, test, and maintain the web applications using Java (backend) and may need a bit of React (frontend).
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews to improve code quality, consistency, and alignment with architecture guidelines.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues and production defects in a timely manner.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and ensure seamless communication between frontend and backend services.
• Contribute to technical discussions, design decisions, and incremental improvements to system architecture.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks to continuously improve development processes.

What you will have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional experience building full-stack web applications.
  Strong backend development experience with Java (Spring / Spring Boot preferred).
• Good understanding of relational databases and SQL (MariaDB/MySQL); experience with ORMs such as Hibernate/JPA is a plus.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs; familiarity with JSON, authentication, and authorization concepts.
• Working knowledge of unit and integration testing on both frontend and backend. Able to write automation tests as well for the features being worked on.
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows, code reviews, and Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and basic DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of security best practices, including secure coding and API authentication (JWT, OAuth2, OIDC).
• Basic understanding of PKI, cryptography, or code signing is an added advantage.
• Exposure to AI/LLM concepts or interest in working with emerging technologies.
