IT Operations & Security Specialist (Part-Time)
Quick Summary
Support & Operations: Proven experience in IT helpdesk support, including remote and in-person hardware setup (onboarding/offboarding), printer troubleshooting, and software provisioning.
digiLab is a formative AI company with world-leading specialists in uncertainty quantification, applied where the stakes are highest and the margin for error is smallest.
Our customers are among the largest and most advanced engineering and science-led organisations in the world, and they're using our technology to tackle some of society's biggest challenges. How do we make fusion energy a commercial reality? Can we drive down the cost of renewable energy and accelerate the transition to a sustainable future? How do we support coral reef restoration, or strengthen Britain's national security? These are just a few of the critical questions our technology is helping to answer.
At the heart of our work is the Uncertainty Engine, digiLab's trustworthy and explainable AI platform, enabling our customers to accelerate innovation, reduce risk, and deliver real value through more confident decisions.
We are looking for ambitious team members to help shape our pioneering technology and tackle some of the world's most impactful problems.
The IT Operations & Security Specialist at digiLab will be instrumental in building, managing, and securing our internal systems and IT infrastructure. You will oversee day-to-day IT helpdesk support, manage multi-site network infrastructure and hardware maintenance, and design, implement, and maintain security tooling and policies. You'll partner with teams across the business to build strong, reliable IT foundations that enable the company to grow safely while keeping day-to-day operations smooth. In addition you will be the point of contact for client related security questions.
This is a part time role (day(s) to be decided), and is based in our Exeter HQ. Travel to our other locations will be required.

- Protecting Our Everyday Devices: Look after and monitor our laptops and tech (Mac, Windows, and more), making sure team hardware is always updated, protected, and running without a hitch.
- Proactive Defense & Problem Solving: Set up and manage security tools that protect our workplace, resolve issues quickly when things go off-track, and run friendly security awareness exercises to keep the team sharp.
- Building Trust with Clients & Standards: Answer security questions from clients with clarity and confidence, while maintaining our standards and certifications like CyberEssentials and ISO27001/SOC2.
- Reliable Networks & Systems: Ensure our office networks, Wi-Fi, cloud platforms, and backups run dependably behind the scenes so the team can work uninterrupted wherever they are.
- Supportive IT & Equipment Care: Be a helpful, approachable point of contact for IT support across the business, managing new hardware, setup, and equipment throughout its lifecycle.
