Your Role
As a Senior Construction Manager at Digital Realty, you will play a key role in overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of data center construction projects—from new builds to fit-outs and upgrades. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are successfully delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of data center construction principles and best practices, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This position will also contribute to continuously improving the design, scope definition, and execution of our construction programs. The role is site-based, ensuring strong project governance and clear roles/responsibilities across any consultant support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple data center construction projects and supporting infrastructure projects end-to-end (design, tendering, construction, commissioning/hand-over, etc.)
- Oversee and monitor on-site works and progress
- Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
- Lead and manage project teams
- Manage contracts and procurement processes
- Act as the owner of quality, schedule, cost, HSE (Health, Safety & Environment), and overall project delivery
- Manage and supervise contractors and service providers, providing guidance and support
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and proactively flag project savings/overruns to protect target values and ensure predictable capacity delivery to the business
- Promote and role-model a culture of continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork through behaviors and communications
Skills & Experience That Will Make the Difference
- Strong experience in construction project management, preferably in data centers or a similar mission-critical environment
- Strong experience with project management methodologies, including multi-project environments
- Proven experience in continuous process improvement, including defining and managing metrics and related KPIs
- Experience working in an international environment
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
