About the Role

~1 min read

As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, monitoring, patching, security, and compliance of property-based server infrastructure and on-site technology platforms across a large, distributed environment.

You will manage virtualised workloads, server infrastructure, CCTV systems, endpoint security, backups, and related platforms, working autonomously while collaborating with Australian-based technology teams when escalation or physical intervention is required. The role is focused on maintaining high availability, security, standardisation, and operational reliability across the infrastructure estate.

You will be working with a leading property technology and services organisation that supports a diverse national portfolio spanning residential, student accommodation, seniors living, and build-to-rent communities.

The organisation operates a large-scale technology environment across more than 130 properties, supporting tens of thousands of beds and dwellings. Its infrastructure includes virtualised server environments, CCTV platforms, endpoint security, backup systems, and other critical property technology services.

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a comparable infrastructure role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with virtualisation platforms, with Proxmox highly preferred.
  • Solid administration experience across Windows Server and Linux, including patching and security hardening.
  • Experience with RMM platforms such as NinjaOne or equivalent.
  • Experience monitoring backup platforms and conducting documented test restores.
  • Strong understanding of server hardware, storage, and firmware lifecycle management.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Strong written English and the ability to communicate clearly with Australian-based stakeholders.
  • Experience with CCTV or VMS platforms, particularly NX Witness.
  • Experience managing distributed infrastructure across multiple sites or geographic locations.
  • Familiarity with Dell server firmware and iDRAC management.
  • Basic scripting or automation skills using Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
  • Experience with SentinelOne or comparable enterprise endpoint security platforms.
  • Highly organised, process-driven, and disciplined in maintaining documentation and operational standards.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented, with the ability to identify potential infrastructure issues before they become service-impacting incidents.
  • Comfortable working remotely and autonomously, with strong ownership and accountability.
  • A clear written communicator who provides complete and actionable escalations and updates.
  • Customer-focused, particularly when supporting service desk requests.
  • Collaborative and low-ego, with respect for scope boundaries and cross-functional teams.
