What's the Opportunity?

We are looking for a technically deep and commercially-driven Senior Product Manager to own the Cross-Border Payments domain in Brazil. Cross-border is one of the most complex and strategically important verticals at dLocal, operating at the intersection of FX regulation, payment infrastructure, treasury mechanics, and merchant experience. You will lead the end-to-end product strategy for how dLocal enables global merchants to move money into and out of emerging markets compliantly, efficiently, and at scale. This role requires a profound interest in the regulatory framework governing foreign exchange, non-resident accounts, and electronic payment services, and the ability to translate that complexity into elegant product decisions. Your domain will encompass the full cross-border stack, including: Regulatory & FX Compliance, Non-Resident Account (NRA) Infrastructure, Treasury & FX Operations, VASP & Stablecoin Operations, Merchant Cross-Border Flows, and Regulatory Reporting Products.
  • Strategy & P&L Ownership: Define and own the vision, roadmap, and economic performance of the Cross-Border product suite, balancing regulatory compliance with revenue impact and operational efficiency.

  • Regulatory Product Leadership: Navigate Central Bank's regulatory landscape, ensuring dLocal operates as a best-in-class eFX and NRA participant. Translate regulatory change into timely product action.

  • NRA & VA Product Development: Lead the design and delivery of Non-Resident Account integrations and Virtual Account structures, working with FX brokers, custody banks, and internal engineering to build compliant, scalable fund collection infrastructure.

  • Merchant Communication at Scale: Act as the primary technical and commercial advisor for global merchants operating XB flows in Brazil. Explain complex regulatory, FX, and operational concepts clearly to enterprise stakeholders.

  • Treasury Tooling & Automation: Partner with Treasury and Finance teams to eliminate manual workflows, Tradebook management, ACAM file generation, safeguarding calculations, and FX closing, through well-designed product tooling.

  • VASP & Stablecoin Product Strategy: Own the product development for virtual asset-related regulatory obligations and emerging stablecoin treasury use cases.

  • Engineering Partnership: Work closely with Engineering on event-driven payment systems, FX data pipelines, regulatory reporting infrastructure, and high-availability architecture for real-time fund movements.

  • Innovation & AI Integration: Actively leverage AI tools (including Claude) to automate operational workflows, accelerate regulatory analysis, and scale product knowledge across the organization.
  • Experience: 5+ years of PM experience in payments, fintech, or financial services. Direct experience with Brazil's cross-border payments ecosystem is mandatory.

  • FX & Regulatory Expertise: Deep knowledge of the Brazilian FX regulatory framework, including Central Bank's Resolution, eFX scope rules, NRA account mechanics, IOF treatment, and ACAM reporting obligations.

  • NRA & Virtual Account Knowledge: Practical understanding of Non-Resident Account structures, Virtual Account (VA) mechanics, and FX broker/custody bank relationships in Brazil.

  • Treasury & Operations Fluency: Understanding of how FX closing, daily netting, safeguarding compliance, and intercompany fund movements work in a multi-entity payments operation.

  • VASP / Crypto Awareness: Familiarity with Brazil's virtual asset regulatory landscape and its intersection with payment infrastructure is a plus.

  • B2B Background: Proven track record managing products for large-scale enterprise merchants in a cross-border or FX context. Ability to navigate complex merchant requirements involving regulatory constraints and operational customization.

  • Technical Fluency: Strong understanding of API design, payment event flows, data pipelines, and the technical architecture behind real-time settlement and regulatory reporting systems.

  • Data-Driven: Proficient with data analysis tools to monitor FX economics, TPV performance, operational risk indicators, and compliance metrics.

  • AI Adopter: High proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate regulatory interpretation, product documentation, and operational automation.

  • Communication: Excellent English communication skills — written and verbal — are mandatory. Spanish fluency is highly preferred. Portuguese is a strong advantage.
