About the Role

Dow Jones is looking for an experienced, driven and solutions-oriented Lead Software Engineer to join the Product Engineering Support team. Our multinational Product Engineering Support team secures the accuracy, availability, and timeliness of Dow Jones Energy offerings, reports, and services, while also implementing minor feature enhancements. We maintain close, efficient communication with diverse company stakeholders to deliver continuous operational uptime through both regular and off-hours support coverage, weekends included. To fit this role, we are looking for that unique mix of solid technical capabilities, blended with strong interpersonal skills; someone who will be a leader coaching, mentoring, and training team members driving both employee and team development and growth. You will lead by example, conducting code reviews, establishing engineering standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team. This role is proactive within our development teams, responsible for offering innovative technical input, creative ideas and strong technical coding skills. You will report to the Manager of the European Technical Support team.

• Independently write, build and deploy complex code, while adhering to best practice development standards, such as continuous integration and deployment.

• Mentor and coach engineers on the team, providing technical guidance and creating opportunities for skill development.

• Analyze business application requirements, identify concerns, and develop concrete, step-by-step technical implementation strategies.

• Track down and resolve bugs across any integrated Energy division code base, as well as maintain existing legacy applications.

• Leverage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) to design and implement highly optimized solutions.

• Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, championing automation and reliability in the deployment process.

• Pioneer responsible AI-augmented development (e.g. Claude), setting team practices that balance velocity with risk management.



• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.

• Demonstrated experience mentoring or technically leading other engineers.

• Advanced proficiency with C#/Microsoft .NET ecosystem and  Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) methodologies.

• Solid grasp of relational databases, specifically SQL Server or PostgreSQL, and cloud-based data platforms, specifically Snowflake.

• Proficiency in front-end technologies including JavaScript frameworks, TypeScript, and HTML/CSS.

• Comfortable with managing AWS assets, preferably with Terraform and/or YAML pipelines.

• Experience with CI/CD tooling, specifically Azure DevOps Pipelines.

• Familiarity with Redis or similar caching/in-memory data stores.

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a similar technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
