We support clients across Financial Services, Agriculture, Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Technology, Entertainment, and Oil & Gas sectors. We also manage assignments across Africa. As the company enters its next phase of structured growth, we are seeking a highly capable and hands-on Accountant to take ownership of finance operations, governance, and reporting while strengthening systems, controls, and operational efficiency. This is a high-impact role for a finance professional who is comfortable operating with autonomy in a lean environment. Role Summary The Accountant will take full responsibility for establishing structure, transparency, and financial discipline across the firm’s finance and operational processes. The role requires strong technical capability, systems thinking, and the ability to independently manage core finance operations while supporting leadership with performance insights. Key Responsibilities 1. Finance Structure & Systems Optimization ▪ Conduct a diagnostic review of existing financial records and processes ▪ Clean up and reconstruct historical financial data where required ▪ Improve and formalise accounting systems and financial workflows ▪ Recommend and optimize accounting software utilization ▪ Strengthen month-end and year-end closing processes ▪ Develop structured management reporting dashboards 2. Governance, Controls & Compliance ▪ Support the implementation of a Delegation of Authority (DoA) matrix ▪ Establish structured expense and payment approval workflows ▪ Strengthen internal controls and audit documentation processes ▪ Develop cash flow monitoring and forecasting models ▪ Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax laws and statutory regulations ▪ Standardize payroll review and financial oversight processes 3. Financial Reporting & Business Support ▪ Prepare monthly management accounts ▪ Provide accurate cash flow projections ▪ Conduct business performance analysis and cost reviews ▪ Support annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes ▪ Provide financial insights to support profitability and cost optimization ▪ Track KPIs aligned with company performance goals 4. Operational Finance Oversight ▪ Improve vendor payment and reconciliation processes ▪ Introduce financial discipline across departments ▪ Identify operational inefficiencies affecting margins ▪ Support readiness for business scaling and growth 5. Process & Capability Development ▪ Document finance policies and procedures ▪ Improve role clarity within finance operations ▪ Build scalable systems to support business expansion ▪ Support junior accounting support staff (where applicable) Requirements Key Requirements ▪ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ▪ 3–5 years progressive accounting experience ▪ Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws (2026 updates inclusive) ▪ Hands-on experience with accounting software and financial reporting ▪ Proven experience strengthening internal controls and financial processes ▪ Strong cash flow management and reconciliation skills ▪ Experience working in lean, fast-paced environments Preferred ▪ ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification (or in view) ▪ Experience in workforce management, outsourcing, or service-based businesses ▪ Experience handling multi-entity financial reporting ▪ Exposure to governance frameworks and structured finance build-outs Competencies ▪ Strong analytical and financial modelling skills ▪ High ownership and accountability ▪ Detail-oriented with structured thinking ▪ Strong communication skills (ability to present financial data clearly) ▪ Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision Benefits Pay ranges between NGN350,000.00 and NGN450,000.00 monthly net Performance-linked upside may be considered for the right candidate.
