We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator with deep expertise across on-premises and OCI-hosted database environments supporting mission-critical Oracle application stacks. This role spans the full DBA lifecycle installation, patching, performance engineering, high availability, disaster recovery, security hardening, and automation with hands-on accountability for databases underpinning Oracle E-Business Suite, Siebel CRM, Billing & Revenue Management (BRM), and Fusion Cloud applications.

 

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and manage Oracle Database (19c, 21c, 23ai) on Linux (OL/RHEL) and Solaris/AIX environments.
  • Administer Oracle RAC and RAC One Node clusters including clusterware, voting disks, OCR, and SCAN listeners.
  • Manage ASM disk groups, rebalancing, failure groups, and storage allocation across database workloads.
  • Plan and execute database patching (RU/RUR, one-off patches) using OPatch and opatchauto with minimal downtime windows.
  • Administer Oracle Grid Infrastructure, TNS networking, listener configurations, and database link management.
  • Manage Oracle Multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB) including provisioning, cloning, plugging/unplugging, and resource management.

  • Provision and manage OCI DB Systems (VM/BM), Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS), and Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC).
  • Administer Oracle Autonomous Database (ATP/ADW) including scaling, cloning, refreshable clones, and workload management.
  • Manage OCI Database tooling: Database Management, Operations Insights, Performance Hub, and Management Agent.
  • Automate database provisioning and lifecycle operations using Terraform (OCI provider) and OCI CLI.
  • Configure and manage OCI networking for database tier: private subnets, NSGs, service gateways, and private endpoints.
  • Manage database backups to OCI Object Storage and configure automatic backup policies.

  • Administer databases underpinning Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) including EBS-specific schemas, concurrent managers, AD utilities, and database-tier patching aligned with EBS release cycles.
  • Manage databases for Siebel CRM Siebel schema optimization, table space management, index maintenance, and Siebel-specific parameter tuning.
  • Support Oracle BRM (Billing & Revenue Management) databases pipeline-intensive workload tuning, BRM schema management, partition strategies for CDR/event data, and purge/archive automation.
  • Administer databases for Oracle Fusion Cloud integrations managing landing/staging databases, OIC connectivity, and hybrid database links between on-prem and Fusion SaaS.
  • Coordinate with application teams on release deployments, schema changes, data migrations, and application-driven database changes.

  • Implement and maintain Oracle Data Guard (Physical/Logical Standby, Active Data Guard) for on-prem and OCI.
  • Design and execute switchover/failover runbooks including cross-platform DR scenarios (on-prem ↔ OCI).
  • Manage RMAN backup and recovery strategies including backup to disk, tape (OSB), OCI Object Storage, and ZDLRA.
  • Configure and maintain Oracle Flashback technologies (Flashback Database, Flashback Table, Restore Points).
  • Implement Oracle GoldenGate for real-time replication, zero-downtime migration, and active-active configurations.

  • Perform proactive performance analysis using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Tuning Advisor, and SQL Plan Management.
  • Tune SQL workloads, execution plans, and optimizer statistics for application-specific patterns (EBS, Siebel, BRM).
  • Configure and optimise Resource Manager plans for multi-workload consolidation and PDB-level resource isolation.
  • Monitor and tune I/O, memory (SGA/PGA), and concurrency across RAC instances.
  • Conduct capacity planning and trending analysis to inform scaling and consolidation decisions.

  • Implement Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), Oracle Key Vault, and network encryption (SQL*Net encryption).
  • Configure Oracle Database Vault, Privilege Analysis, and Unified Auditing for compliance-driven environments.
  • Apply CIS Oracle Database benchmarks and security patching aligned with change management processes.
  • Manage database user security, role-based access, profiles, and password policies across environments.

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, and PL/SQL for routine DBA tasks (health checks, space management, patching, provisioning).
  • Administer Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 13c Cloud Control targets, monitoring templates, metric thresholds, jobs, and compliance standards.
  • Build self-service database provisioning workflows using OEM, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Implement database CI/CD practices schema version control (Liquibase/Flyway), automated deployments, and test environment refresh automation.

  • Develop and maintain operational runbooks, DR test plans, and architecture documentation.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, incident management, root cause analysis, and problem management.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, application teams, and client stakeholders on platform decisions.
  • Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to knowledge sharing within the practice.

 

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in Oracle Database Administration with hands-on expertise across on-premises and OCI-hosted environments.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and Grid Infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB) and database consolidation.
  • Proven experience administering databases for at least two of: Oracle EBS, Siebel CRM, Oracle BRM, or Fusion Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience with OCI Database Services (DB Systems, ExaCS, Autonomous Database).
  • Strong proficiency in database performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL Tuning Advisor.
  • Experience with Oracle GoldenGate for replication and migration scenarios.
  • Proficiency in Bash and Python scripting for DBA automation.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 13c Cloud Control administration.
  • Strong understanding of Linux system administration (Oracle Linux / RHEL).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear operational documentation and engage with application and client stakeholders.

  • Oracle certifications: Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional (19c/23ai), Oracle RAC Certified Expert, Oracle Cloud Database Services Certified Professional.
  • OCI certifications: OCI Architect Associate, OCI Database Professional.
  • Experience with Oracle ZDLRA (Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance).
  • Familiarity with Terraform (OCI provider) for database infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with database CI/CD tooling (Liquibase, Flyway) and GitOps workflows.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) best practices.
  • Experience with Oracle Database 23ai new features (AI Vector Search, JSON Relational Duality, True Cache).
  • Familiarity with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and hybrid integration patterns.
  • Experience with Oracle Data Masking and Subsetting for non-production environments.
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management awareness.
  • Experience working in managed services, telecom, or consulting delivery environments.
