Do you take pride in doing things right the first time? Join Elma Electronic Inc. as a Machine Operator – Hardware and play a critical role in ensuring our metal components are assembled accurately, safely, and to specification.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing PEM nuts, standoffs, studs, and specialty hardware using a variety of insertion machines and custom setups. Your precision and consistency help ensure the quality our customers expect.

What You’ll Do
As a key member of the Metal Shop team, you will:

Install PEM nuts, standoffs, studs, and specialty hardware using various insertion machines
Process all work routed through the hardware operation with accuracy and attention to detail
Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and job specifications
Set up and perform custom or non�'standard hardware installations for special jobs
Recognize deviations from standard practices and take appropriate action
Work with limited supervision while maintaining quality and productivity standards
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support shop operations

What You Bring
Required Skills & Experience

2–3 years of hands�'on experience in hardware insertion and blueprint reading
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
Strong attention to detail and quality
Reliable work habits and solid attendance
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good basic oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working in a sheet metal or fabrication shop environment

Working Environment
This role is performed in a Sheet Metal Shop and includes:

Sitting up to 60% of the time for brief or extended periods
Standing on concrete floors up to 40% of the time
Lifting and carrying materials up to 25 lbs. approximately 30% of the time
Regular handling and grasping of parts and tools
Exposure to metal dust during deburring operations
Use of required PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection
Occasional forklift operation
