Compliance Manager
Responsible for leading and managing the Compliance area, ensuring that the Institution operates in full compliance with the regulations issued by the Central Bank of Brazil, the National Monetary Council, and other competent authorities. Acts as a point of contact for regulatory bodies and oversees the 2nd line of defense framework.
This role requires strategic vision combined with deep regulatory expertise to anticipate regulatory changes, implement compliance programs, manage risk assessments, and foster a strong compliance culture across the organization. The ideal candidate must demonstrate proven leadership experience in financial market compliance, the ability to influence senior stakeholders, and a track record of building and developing high-performing compliance teams.
Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Compliance team, ensuring alignment with the Institution’s strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the delivery of Compliance and Code of Ethics training programs across the organization.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Compliance program, including policies, procedures, and controls.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key compliance performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and communicate the effectiveness of the Compliance program.
- Monitor the regulatory landscape and proactively identify changes that may impact the Institution, translating them into actionable guidance for business areas.
- Ensure observance of the Code of Ethics and oversee the handling of complaints received through internal and external reporting channels.
- Oversee compliance testing programs and monitor resulting action plans to completion.
- Drive continuous improvement of Compliance processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, including the Central Bank of Brazil, ensuring timely and accurate responses to all demands and inspections.
- Report to senior management and the Board on compliance matters, including regulatory risks, incidents, and program effectiveness.
- Coordinate with Internal and External Audit on Compliance-related matters.
- Align local policies and processes with Group policies and global regulatory standards.
- Support the Board/Group in implementing strategic decisions with governance or regulatory impact.
- English: Advanced/Fluent
- Deep understanding of national and international laws and regulations related to the financial market.
- Understanding of regulatory bodies’ processes and communications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of compliance and professional ethics principles necessary to handle sensitive and confidential matters related to ethics and conduct.
- Experience in managing Compliance teams and programs.
- Experience in responding to demands from the Central Bank of Brazil, including its deadlines and procedures.
- Experience in assessing the applicability of regulations governing the foreign exchange market.
- Experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
- Familiarity with tools and technologies used for managing Compliance activities.
- Knowledge of corporate governance frameworks.
- Experience in conducting internal investigations related to misconduct.
- Experience in leading regulatory inspections and audits.
Requirements

- ABRACAM Certificate (Completed or commitment to acquire after joining): ABT2.
