Investee Compliance Officer

We are looking for a detail-driven Investee Compliance Officer to support the compliance management of portfolio companies across the funds managed by Edge Growth Ventures. This role sits at the intersection of legal, compliance, and portfolio management, ensuring that all investee obligations, agreements, and regulatory requirements are actively monitored and managed. You will work closely with internal stakeholders including Portfolio Management and Legal, playing a key role in maintaining governance, tracking compliance, and supporting investment operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Investee Monitoring & Compliance (Primary Focus) Review investee legal agreements with Legal to ensure obligations are met Track and flag key investee events for proactive planning Maintain full compliance across investment agreements Escalate non-compliance and support formal legal notifications Build and manage an undertakings dashboard per investee and across the portfolio Maintain accurate document records (SharePoint) in line with record-keeping standards Compile consolidated compliance reports with findings and recommendations Monitor compliance during deal handovers from Investment to Portfolio Management Track securities registration, notarial bonds, and related legal requirements Maintain securities registers and safeguard documentation 2. Operations & Administration Provide general operational and administrative support Contribute to the ICO Centre of Excellence (knowledge management) Assist with reporting and data management Take minutes for internal meetings where required What Success Looks Like in This Role Accurate and up-to-date investee compliance tracking Proactive identification and escalation of risks High-quality reporting to support portfolio decision-making Strong document governance and audit readiness Seamless coordination between Legal and Portfolio teams Requirements South African citizen Diploma (or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Legal, or related field Experience Minimum 5+ years’ experience in Compliance, legal administration or similar roles within Financial Services, Legal or Compliance environments Strong track record of accuracy, quality control and attention to detail Edge Growth is committed to creating an inclusive workplace, we encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
