 Location:  This role requires a hybrid work schedule out of our Concord, CA office, 1-2 days a week in office.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Claims Analyst to support data-driven decision-making within our claims operations. This role is responsible for analyzing claims data, identifying trends, and delivering actionable insights using advanced tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Tableau, while also supporting key administrative and operational workflows. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in data analysis, reporting, and process coordination.

Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Utilize advanced Excel techniques (e.g., pivot tables, macros, formulas, Power Query) to manipulate and analyze data
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports using Tableau and PowerBI
  • Design and produce a wide range of analytical reports, including operational, financial, and ad hoc reporting, to support business needs and strategic decision-making
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting platforms
  • Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve claims processes, reduce risk, and optimize performance
  • Conduct root cause analysis on claim discrepancies, denials, or outliers
  • Pull claim reports and loss data from multiple carrier/TPA technology platforms
  • Consistently establish and maintain high levels of trust and confidence with clients, through constant contact, prompt response (within 24 hours) and resolution of client’s questions and claim issues
  • Perform unit statistical claim evaluations
  • Develop experience modification projections for clients and internal staff

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative assistance & support to the Data Analytics Manager/AVP and Team Leaders.
  • Manage and maintain shared Outlook inboxes, including monitoring, prioritizing, and responding to inquiries
  • Route incoming Property & Casualty (P&C) claims to the appropriate advocate or internal resource
  • Manage incoming advocacy referral requests, ensuring proper documentation and timely assignment
  • Track and follow up on outstanding requests to ensure completion within service level expectations
  • Support process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives across claims operations
  • Function as a liaison between clients, carriers/TPA’s, and related vendors
  • Respond timely to internal staff regarding claim questions and requests
  • Assist in onboarding new clients

Personal and Organizational Development

  • Set priorities and manage workflow for self to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of all responsibilities
  • Maintain cordial and effective relations with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts
  • Maintain up-to-date client claim files, workflow logs, manuals or other required documentation and records
  • Interact with others effectively utilizing effective communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as needed to achieve the business goals of the Company
  • Stay informed regarding carrier’ claims product/program developments and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance

  • Advanced knowledge of navigating the Internet as well as various Microsoft Office programs to include Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of insurance claims experience
  • College Degree and/or insurance related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have advanced knowledge of a variety of Microsoft Office computer software applications including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to manage sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires teamwork, demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI and/or Tableau for data visualization and dashboard creation preferred

The national average salary for this role is $65,000 to $75,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
